How to Set Up Welcome Emails
Campaign Builder / Sky Campaigns can send a welcome email to new subscribers.
This feature is optional. You can use it to automatically greet subscribers after they join a campaign.
What Is a Welcome Email?
A welcome email is sent after a visitor subscribes through a campaign form.
You can use it to:
- Confirm the subscription.
- Welcome the subscriber.
- Share next steps.
- Send a short introduction.
- Deliver a simple message after signup.
Where to Configure Welcome Emails
To set up welcome emails:
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- Go to Campaigns > Settings > Email.
- Enable the welcome email option if you want to use it.
- Set the sender details.
- Customize the welcome email subject.
- Customize the welcome email body.
- Save the settings.
Sender Details
Sender details control who the welcome email appears to come from.
Use a sender name and email address that visitors can recognize.
Make sure the sender email address is valid and can send emails from your WordPress site.
Welcome Email Subject
The subject line appears in the subscriber’s inbox.
Use a clear subject that matches the signup action.
Example:
Welcome to {{blog_name}}
Welcome Email Body
The email body is the main message sent to the subscriber.
You can include a short welcome message, helpful links, or basic next steps.
You can also use supported merge tags to personalize the email.
Using Auto Responders Instead
You can disable the welcome email and use auto responders instead.
Use auto responders if you want to send delayed follow-up emails after subscription.
If Welcome Emails Are Not Sending
If welcome emails are not sending, check:
- WordPress can send email.
- Your sender email address is valid.
- Any SMTP plugin settings are correct.
- Optional Sky Campaigns SMTP is disabled unless intentionally configured.
- Your hosting mail service is working.
Important Note
Campaign Builder sends email using WordPress wp_mail() by default.
If your site has email delivery issues, you may need to configure SMTP through an existing SMTP plugin or through the optional Sky Campaigns SMTP settings.
