📖 How to Enable GDPR & Privacy Settings for Your Knowledge Base

Compliance with GDPR and privacy policies is mandatory for all digital platforms. To ensure your Knowledge Base meets these requirements, Instant Knowledge Base offers dedicated settings to manage cookie consent and user data in accordance with privacy regulations.

Enable GDPR Banner

You must enable the GDPR banner to display the privacy policy and cookie consent notice specifically on your Knowledge Base articles. This banner will only appear on Knowledge Base pages, not on other parts of your website.

• Description: When enabled, visitors see a cookie consent banner on their first visit to the Knowledge Base.
• Functionality: Visitors can choose to accept or decline the use of cookies on your site.

Banner Text

The banner text is fully customizable to fit your site’s voice and legal requirements. The default message is sufficient for most users but can be tailored as needed.

• Purpose: Customize the message displayed in the cookie consent banner.
• Example text:
  “We use cookies to enhance your browsing experience and analyze our traffic. By clicking ‘Accept All,’ you consent to our use of cookies.”

Privacy Policy URL

Add a link to your website’s privacy policy to provide users easy access to learn more about how you handle their data.

• Purpose: Link visitors to your privacy policy page.
• How to use: Enter the full URL of your privacy policy (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com/privacy-policy/).
• Note: Leave this field blank if you prefer not to display a privacy policy link in the banner.

Accept Button Text

Customize the label for the button users click to agree to cookie usage.

• Purpose: Set the text for the “accept” button in the GDPR banner.
• Default example: Accept All

Decline Button Text

Customize the label for the button users click to decline cookie usage.

• Purpose: Set the text for the “decline” button in the GDPR banner.
• Default example: Decline

Banner Position

Choose where the GDPR cookie consent banner appears on the page.

Saving Changes

Once you have configured your GDPR and privacy settings, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page to apply your settings.
